1. Pancreatic Cancer Survivorship Grant
I wrote the following grant as my final project for an undergraduate grant and proposal writing class. The assignment was to pick a non-profit organization or a cause to represent for the entire term. I chose the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) because my aunt passed away of pancreatic cancer a few years ago, and supporting PANCAN has become important to me.
I decided to create a grant for a program that focused on the needs of both patients and caregivers. I developed all content based on my own original idea for a cancer treatment program with both traditional and alternative medicinal approaches.
I chose Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG foundation as the funder because of the two organizations’ shared goals for cancer “survivorship.” Yet, this was a theoretical assignment, so I did not submit the grant to the foundation.
